Dorinda Perez grew up in a small rural town in central California, surrounded by orchards, roadside fruit stands, and weekend farmers’ markets. Summers were marked by the scent of ripe peaches, berries, and melons, and her family often made simple juices and smoothies from whatever was in season. From an early age she became fascinated by how flavors, colors, and nutrients changed when you blended different fruits and greens together.
That fascination led her to study Food Science and Nutrition at Universidad de Antioquia, where she learned both the science of vitamins, enzymes, and natural preservation, and the art of creating balanced flavor profiles. After graduating, she spent a couple of years working as a food technologist for a mid-size fruit processing company, focusing on minimal processing methods and cold pressing, always interested in preserving as much of the natural goodness of the produce as possible.
A Journey Toward Sharing Knowledge
In her mid-twenties, Dorinda moved to Bogotá and worked with a sustainability-oriented NGO that promoted urban farming and community nutrition. There she taught workshops on growing microgreens, juicing without waste, and the role of whole fruits vs. processed sugars in diet.
In parallel she pursued self-directed learning: herbal medicine, microbiology (especially the effects of fermentation), and tropical fruit ecology. Though formally trained, she has always believed that practical, hands on experience experimenting in her kitchen, testing recipes with local farmers, seeking out everyday questions is just as important as academic study.
Why Raw Creations Juice
By the early 2020s, Dorinda had also taken a leap into entrepreneurship with her family. Together they started a small juice stand at the local market, using fresh seasonal produce to create simple but nourishing blends.

Running it for two years gave her firsthand lessons in sourcing fruit, experimenting with recipes, and listening to what customers truly valued in their drinks. That experience, combined with her background in food science and community work, strengthened her belief that knowledge should be shared beyond the market stall.
Starting in 2025, after blending science, community engagement, and this family business experience, Dorinda launched Raw Creations Juice with the aim of creating a trusted source of information. Her vision is that readers should find articles here that answer real questions “How long is cold-pressed juice safe at room temperature?”, “What are good smoothie combos to support digestion or immunity?”, “How to choose produce seasonally and affordably in tropical climates” written in everyday language, tested where possible, and grounded in both scientific understanding and lived experience.
What You’ll Find Here
On Raw Creations Juice, Dorinda writes with warmth and clarity. You’ll find articles that explain how different fruits and vegetables behave when juiced, ways to preserve nutrients, flavor pairing ideas, safety tips, plus occasionally creative recipes using local, often under used produce. Though informed by research (journals, food safety, nutritional science), the content is never overly technical: it’s about what works in a home kitchen, what tastes good, what helps well being, and what questions people really ask.
Dorinda believes that good juice and smoothie habits aren’t about perfection they’re about possibility. Whether you’re making a quick green smoothie for breakfast, want to use up fruit that’s nearing its ripe point, or are curious about juice fasting (or just juice enhancement), she hopes this site becomes a place where you feel empowered, inspired, and confident in what you pour into your glass.
